Pottuvil Point

It is a sandy, right-hand reef break point about 6 km north of Arugam Bay. It is famous for its surfing point which works best in offshore winds. It is relatively smaller than Arugam bay. With exceptional scenic beauty and beach houses, Pottuvil point is a must go for tourists visiting Arugam Bay. One exciting thing about this point is that this is the only point in the country which hosts the international surf competition. The Baby Point is for beginners who are looking to learn how to surf. Also, there's a Whiskey point as well where waves are guaranteed all season.

Most of the surf here comes from, and the optimum swell angle is from the southeast. The best time to visit here from May to October. You can get comfortable tuk-tuk rides from Arugam Bay to reach here which would cost you 1000 bucks. You'll find local vendors here offering you some fantastic food alongside the luxurious hotel known as Kottukal Beach House in South.
