Heritage In Central Bangalore
Central Bangalore has some of the main heritage attractions in the city which include the beautiful Bangalore Fort and the Tipu Sultan Summer Palace. The Palace is located in the Bangalore Fort. Due to Bangalore's pleasant climate, the opulent palace was once used by the Emperor Tipu Sultan as a summer retreat and was often referred to as the 'Abode of Happiness' and 'Rash e Jannat' meaning 'Envy of Heaven'.
Stop by the beautiful Saint Mary's Basilica which is the oldest church in Bangalore and hosts a lively Sunday mass attended by a large portion of the city's Christian community.. If you are travelling with kids, do stop by the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum and marvel at the outstanding depository of science experiments spread over an area of 43000 sq. ft! Both the Basilica and the Museum are located near MG road.
