The Museum of the history of Barcelona is situated on the Placa del Rei in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. The permanent displays contain objects related to Romans, late antiquity, modern, contemporary, and even medieval periods placed safely in the themed galleries.
It was constructed back in 1943 and is one of the best resources for research, communication, conservation, and education related to the history of Barcelona. This museum has more than a single building. Each building incorporates different archaeological sites that date back to medieval times, pre-roman times, and other eras. The major highlight of the museum of Barcelona is that it comprises around 35,000 objects that are permanently displayed here in the museum and displayed in rotating exhibitions.
