A Buddhist temple established 6 kilometres north of Battambang province, Wat Samrong Knong is a must-visit for those inclined towards historical tourism. The fascinating history of this place shows that Khmer Rouge earlier controlled it, and the temple housed over 10,000 locals and war criminals who were later brutally executed. Built in the 19th century, the temple complex amalgamates beautiful pagodas, distinct ruins, and memorial shrines.
