The Folklore Museum in Balstraat is a replication of workers’ houses in Bruges during the 19th and 20th centuries. The refurbed rooms house a pharmacy, an old classroom, a tailor’s workshop, a confectionery, and a grocery shop. Temporary exhibitions are displayed on the first floor.
Along with this, you can also enjoy the beauty of the lace collection. Every room on the Ground floor has a trove of antiques like tobacco products, olden games, chocolate moulds, etc. The Folklore Museum also features fun activities every first and third Thursday of the month. The confectioner stocks the rooms of the museum with pleasing aromas. Kids can enjoy leisure time in the museum’s huge garden, relaxing and playing popular games. If you are planning to visit the Folklore Museum during December, you can enjoy the Mid-winter event with your family and have a great time exploring the traditional festivities.
