There are many Thai-Chinese temples in Chanthaburi.
Wat Khao Sukim is a huge Thai Theravada Buddhist temple located on a mountaintop. It started as a simple forest monastery, which is now a lavish temple with a grand entrance of staircases attracting thousands of Thais and tourists. The gaudy sculptures make it look more like a museum sometimes. On the other side of the town, Wat Mong Gorn Phupharam is a Chinese Buddhist temple which has a stunning architecture and design bursting with colors. Wat Bot Muang is Chanthaburi's oldest temple built 400 years ago. It has a chedi and murals of scenes from Buddha's life.
