Our Saviour, Copenhagen Overview
Our Saviour's Church offers a spectacular view of central Copenhagen from its top and lies in Chirtianshavn. The highlight of the place is its spiral staircase with 400 stairs, which carries visitors to the top of the tower, where a golden globe sculpture representing the Lord Jesus Christ is situated.
From Tessin's gorgeous altarpiece that portrays a scene from the Garden of Gethsemane to a big wooden mouth organ supported by elephants, the church's interiors are all designed with care and attention to detail. The church's tower is divided into three storeys, with sandstone cornices and pilasters, as well as a gilded clock face. The melodies concert is a must-attend event in the church with its concert carillon, 48 bronze bells, chimes, and octaves.
