Kassiopi, a picturesque village on Corfu's northeast coast, is known for its vibrant harbor, pebbled beaches, and historic Byzantine fortress (Kassiopi Castle) overlooking the Ionian Sea. Located about 36 km from Corfu Town, it offers activities such as swimming, boat trips, and exploring the fortress ruins. Visitors can also enjoy waterfront tavernas serving fresh seafood and traditional Greek dishes.
Kassiopi Castle was dismantled in 1386 by the Venetians and was not repaired or maintained for a long time. Keeping the originality of the castle intact, it was partly restored during modern times.
