South Delhi

South Delhi is a district in the capital territory of Delhi. In the general sense, the area of South Delhi is considered to begin from Delhi's IGI International Airport extending all the way to the Yamuna River in the south-east. Home to a large number of millionaires, South Delhi, is a posh district better known for the lavish lifestyle of its inhabitants and nightlife.

South Delhi is an unapologetically affluent neighbourhood. You can enjoy the nightlife at Hauz Khas village till you see the morning sun. Shopaholics can flock to the high-end market areas of Greater Kailash, Lajpat Nagar, South Extension, Saket, etc. Select City Walk mall in Saket is a great place shop and dine out. In case you are on a budget, Sarojini Nagar market is a great place to shop for clothes, jewellery and other items.  

Mughal architecture and history can be experienced by visiting the Humayun's Tomb and Safdarjung Madarsa. The world heritage site by UNESCO, Qutub Minar is a popular relaxation and picnic spot which is open from sunrise to sunset. Beautiful temples such as the Chattarpur Mandir and the Jagannath Temple are worth visiting for some peace and tranquillity.

For a modern cultural stopover, the Mocha Art House is the recommended place to visit. Here, one can satisfy their love for art, culture and food. Dilli Haat is a more traditional retreat offering cuisine and craft from across India. The deer park in Hauz Khas village is fantastic for some relaxation.

South Delhi is well connected to other districts by local buses, taxis and most importantly the New Delhi Metro service. Travelling within the region is very convenient and affordable.
