Dominica is known for its delicious fresh produce and excellent seafood. Rice serves as a staple food here served as a common base to meals or as a side dish. Plantains and root vegetables such as yams and turnips are also served as side dish or as an ingredient of the main course. One will find other cuisines than Creole in the country including Continental and American offered at reasonable price. Te-tee-ree, Lambi, Manicou, Crab backs, Bello hot pepper sauce, and mountain chicken are some of the popular dishes. Locals drinks such as Island fruit juices, Rum punches, Sea moss and beers are quite popular.

Finding Indian food on the island is a bit difficult considering there might be just one or two Indian restaurants.
