Jebel Jais Zip Line

The Jebel Jais Mountain zip line is located in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) just north of Dubai. There is a luxury airport shuttle that travels from Dubai International Airport to Hotel Tulip in Ras Al Khaimah. Not only is this zip line officially recognized as the longest zip line in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records but it is part of an overarching eco-tourism project that will include a brand-new viewing deck, an ice-skating rink, and helicopter transfers up and down the mountain.

As the world’s longest zip-line, the Jebel Jais zip line measures 2.83 kilometres and an exhilarating height of 1,680 metres (5,500 feet) above sea level. The zip line reaches speeds of almost 150 kilometres per hour. This experience is taken to another level by the use of the ‘superhero’ harness that keeps you stomach down during the ride, allowing you to feel like you’re flying in the middle of the mountains. The ride begins at the launching platform that resembles a falcon and the mid-way point is the suspended platform in the middle of the course that begins the second part of the zip line. At the end of this experience, you get an official Jebel Jais ‘flight certificate’, a picture in their Hall of Fame, and footage of your adventure.

Timings: It is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM all days of the week except Mondays and Tuesdays.

Price: The experience is priced at AED 350 per person. The zip line, opened in 2018, is one of the newer additions to the zip line options in Dubai and there is still development underway here.

Booking: At Jebel Jais zip line, much like XLine, there are two zip lines available so that you can fly side-by-side with friends or family. The entire experience here takes a little over an hour and there are hourly slots available from 9:00 AM till the last slot at 4:00 PM. As Jebel Jais zip line is located around 50 kilometres from Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) city limits, it’s advised to book a slot beforehand instead of hoping for an on-spot opening. You can make a booking on their website or by phone.

Eligibility: Because of the height and speed of this ride, it is open to riders of a minimum 13 years of age.

Tips

1. Due to the nature of the sport, it’s best to wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes for the ride. This means that skirts, dresses, and flip-flops are not allowed. Some rides do allow the traditional Emirati dress, but it’s best to call ahead and check as this policy differs between companies.
2. Hair is to be tied during the ride to avoid any risk of getting tangled with the zip line. Accessories like earrings, necklaces, or bracelets should be left at home.
3. XLine has a small locker service in Marina Mall where you can store accessories, wallets, keys and phones during the ride.
