In the green and serene environs of the Bhagwan Mahavir National Park flow the majestic Tambdi Surla Waterfalls. Less famous than the neighbouring Dudhsagar Falls, these have an untouched beauty that hasto be seen to be believed. The Tambdi Surla Falls lie inside the Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, on the Goa-Karnataka border. They are approximately 86 km from Panjim, and you would need to have your own or a hired transport options to reach them. Although these are named after the Tambadi Surla Temple, the falls themselves are some distance away from the temple. The small but moderately difficult Tambdi Surla Waterfalls Trek is likely to reward you with amazing and refreshing views of the verdant forests. You can also spot some rare snakes like the Common Krait, Russel's Viper, or the more common - Vine snake. Trekking among this diversity of nature, the musical chirping of the birds and flitting butterflies is an experience that you are unlikely to forget in a hurry.
