Burleigh Heads Beach is an azure stretch for swimming, splashing, body surfing, and boogie boarding. It is patrolled and flagged at every 50 meters, up in the north, from the main Beach to the Burleighs Heads, for adventurous activities. The golden sandy 1.5-mile stretch is dog-friendly and is famous for walking, hiking, running, and birding. In September, jellyfish pose a threat to swimmers, and the menacing sharks visit infrequently, but they are numerous along the California coast.
