Hiking in Hydra

With numerous trails offering stunning views of the island's rugged coastline and beautiful beaches, Hydra is a great destination for Hikers. One popular hike here is the trail from Hydra Town to the Monastery of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, which offers panoramic views of the island and the Saronic Gulf.

This trail is about 4.5 kilometres long and takes about 2 hours to complete. It is a moderate hike with some steep sections and is suitable for most fitness levels. Other popular hikes on the island include the trail to the summit of the Profitis Ilias Mountain, which offers views of the island and the surrounding area, and the trail to the abandoned village of Kaminia, which passes through olive groves and offers views of the island's rugged interior.
