Must Know Before You Travel to Koh Jum

Ferries to Ko Jum:

  • Regular ferries operate between Krabi Town and Koh Lanta that stop at Koh Jum, which is centrally located. It takes around 1 hour and costs TBH 400. Tickets can be bought in Krabi or at the main ferry offices at the old pier on Thanon Khong Ka.
  • The ferry stops in the open ocean, where a longtail boat takes you to the shore.
    Longtail boats to Koh Jum are also available from Laem Kruat Harbour, near Krabi Airport. These leave every hour between 11:30 PM and 6:00 PM and cost around TBH 100 per person.
  • The Krabi Koh Lanta ferries only run during the high season from November to April. You must charter a longtail boat to Koh Jum during the low season from May to October. This costs around TBH 2500 one way
  • Getting Around: Since the island is really small, the best way to get around is by scooter or bicycle. A scooter is available for TBH 200-250 per day and is available at almost every accommodation. Bicycles are available for TBH 100-150 per day. Bike rentals can also be found all over the island. 
  • Beware of monkeys while driving around Koh Jum.
  • Accommodation: Bungalows and hotels are available on Koh Jum but are limited in number, so they must be booked in advance.
  • Alcohol is allowed on the island and sold in most restaurants and bars.
  • Carry enough cash, as ATMs are not available on the island.
