1. Kunkeshwar Beach

Kunkeshwar Beach is the most popular tourist spot in the hamlet of Kunkeshwar. Boasting of a lengthy coastline and golden sandy shores, the beach is also home to the Shiva Temple. In addition to that, Kunkeshwar Beach is nestled in the midst of hills that make the spot even more appeasing. People come here for a swim in the calm cool waters. Or simply or rest their minds in a perfectly tranquil atmosphere.

2. Shiva Temple

Shiva Temple is another major highlight in Kunkeshwar that also is a reason for major tourist influx including both pilgrims and regular tourists. There are several myths and legends associated behind the origin and establishment of the temple. It is held in high regard and is considered to be an important pilgrimage spot by the Hindus.

3. Kunkeshwar Cave

Surrounding the popular Shiva Temple are several caves, some of which have been converted to temples and have been enshrined by other gods and goddesses, one of which is Goddess Parvati (Wife of Lord Shiva) etc. There are other religious entities engraved and carved on other caves like Ganesh, Garuda, and Nandi etc. There are also sculptures and beautiful carvings that you can find here.

4. Natural Shivlings

Every now and then, there are natural shivlings discovered near the temple, some are carved on the caves, others on the nearby rocks. There is one famous sea rock where a Shivling has been carved. It is believed that this one has been carved naturally, by the waves in the sea.

Although you can visit Kunkeshwar at any time of the year, it is best visited during the festival of Mahashivratri which is a grand event in the village.
