Pyhä-Luosto National Park is a natural area renowned for its ancient forests, rugged fells, and unique geological formations. Spanning approximately 142 square kilometers, the park stretches between the villages of Pyhä and Luosto. It is known for its well-marked hiking trails, rich birdwatching and Northern Lights viewing opportunities.

The park's landscape is dominated by a chain of fells, remnants of mountains over two billion years old. The highest peaks, such as Noitatunturi (540 meters) and Ukko-Luosto (514 meters), offer panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness. Deep gorges like Isokuru, Finland's deepest at 220 meters, showcase the park's dramatic terrain. Historically, these areas were sacred to the indigenous Sámi people, with sites like Pyhäkasteenlampi ("Holy Baptism Pond") reflecting the region's spiritual significance.
