Lexington is located in the Middlesex County of Massachusetts and was previously a part of Cambridge, then called Cambridge farms. It is known for its historical significance as the Battle of Lexington, considered by many the first of the American Revolutionary War, was fought here. The site is a tourist attraction now, by the name of Battle Green, and contains the Minuteman Statue. American History and Freemasonry can also be seen at The Scottish Rite Masonic Museum & Library. Other than the rich historical monuments and museums, Lexington is a suburb with a rich art scene, and the town centre boasts of various art galleries. Even the book publisher D.C. Heath was founded here. Continuing the legacy of initially being a farming community, Willards Woods Conservation Area is a brilliant place to enjoy Saturday Night Lives among nature.
