Umbrella Project , Liverpool Overview

The streets at Liverpool city centre are decorated with 200 colourful umbrellas under Liverpool Umbrella Project which is a way of celebrating the neurodevelopmental conditions of individuals. It is to boost awareness, understanding and encouraging discussions on Autism.

The Umbrella Project is an indication and a way of reminding adults- whether parents, teachers or employees that young individuals with ADHD and special conditions are gifted with many talents and skills to offer their communities. The name of this project is given by the children who are associated with the ADHD Foundation in Liverpool. This project was launched on 24th June 2017. These umbrellas have been signed by children from St. Oswald’s Primary School in Old Swan and also other students from Merseyside schools. This campaign is an incredible way to reach out to people with special abilities and at the same time empower them. The goal of this project is to overcome the stigma associated with disabilities and to provide equal opportunities to people affected by them.
