Padukone village is a small village which is located in the Udupi district of Karnataka. The village is beautiful and is surrounded on all sides by Bhatkal Taluk in the north region, Udupi Taluk in the south part, Hosanagara Taluk in the East region and Sagar Taluk in the West region. Since the village is situated near the Arabian Sea, the climate of the village is humid many a times. The residents of the village speak the local language Tulu.
The living legend of Badminton, Prakash Padukone was born here. The village gives a serene view of the water on all sides. The village is well connected by roads on the one hand but another most common mode of transport for the villagers as well as tourists is via a boat ride from the Souparnika River. At first, the boat was rowed by hands, but now with the introduction of technology, motor-boats are being used instead. The boat can seat a maximum of 10 people and the charge per person for a ride of half an hour is INR 450.
