El Badi Palace

Built in the 16th century, the El Badi Palace is a ruined palace in the southern part of Miner in Marrakech. Known as the Palace of Brilliance or Palais el-Badi, it was once the biggest palace complex in Morocco. The terrace offers a beautiful view of the Atlas mountains. It also houses the Marrakech Museum for Photography and Visual Arts.

Visit the El-Badi Palace, Koutoubia Minbar inside the palace, and the remains of the 300 rooms, which were earlier decorated in gold, crystal, and turquoise. Sultan Ahmen Al Mansoor constructed the El Badii-Ksibat Nhass Palace to celebrate the victory of the battle of the three kings against the Portuguese. The wooden pulpit, the Koutoubia Minbar, was made of cedar wood with small engravings in gold and silver by Cordoba artisans in the 12th century. The spacious palace area is rectangular and has a vast courtyard consisting of a water basin and smaller garden areas. You can also see hundreds of storks who have their happy home in this palace ruin.
