The state of the art open-air live music festivals of SummerStage and BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! have been celebrating music since 1979-80s.
Indie rocks, Afrobeat, reggae, jazz, salsa, hip-hop and several other genres make way for a reverberating summer music festival each year. 2020 was not any different at SummerStage with its 34th anniversary celebrated through dance parties, live concerts, outdoor opera, ballet and live theatre. Although the main SummerStage venue is in Central Park, the summer music is celebrated in various other parks, while Celebrate Brooklyn is organized at Prospect Park. What makes the concerts so mind-boggling is that at free of cost, you get to enjoy spectacular lighting, raised seating, sufficient standing space and sleek sound system. As the largest free performing arts fests, SummerStage runs every year from June to October and organizes nearly a hundred performances (mostly free of cost). Celebrate Brooklyn is the longest-running festival catering over 250,000 music enthusiasts annually.
