Ol Pejeta Conservancy, in Kenya's Laikipia District, is a vital wildlife sanctuary, known for being East Africa's largest black rhino sanctuary. It protects over 165 endangered black rhinos and is home to the last two northern white rhinos worldwide, making it crucial for rhino conservation. Additionally, Ol Pejeta is a habitat for the Big Five animals.
Ol Pejeta Conservancy sits right on the equator, between Mount Kenya and the Aberdares. Known for being great for families, it's a top safari spot. With the most activities of any park in Kenya, it has something for everyone. The beautiful hikes are not just stunning but also good for kids.
The expansive savannah plains and acacia woodlands provide a stunning backdrop for wildlife photography and nature walks. Ol Pejeta also offers unique activities like guided bush walks, night game drives, and visits to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, home to rehabilitated chimps rescued from the pet and bushmeat trades.
Apart from wildlife experiences, Ol Pejeta Conservancy allows visitors to engage in community and cultural interactions with the local Maasai communities, providing insights into their traditional lifestyle, rituals, and crafts. The conservancy’s accommodations range from luxury lodges to tented camps, ensuring a comfortable stay amidst the wilderness.
