Bael Pola Festival

Bael Pola festival is celebrated with great pomp in whole Maharashtra including Ozar. Not only in this state, but the similar festival is also celebrated in the south which is called as Mattu Pongal in South and Godhan in northern and western India.

This festival belongs to farmers in which they worship the Bulls to pay their respect to them. The animal is bathed and decorated with beautiful ornaments and shawls. Their horns are also painted. On this day, the bulls are allowed to rest, and a procession is carried out by farmers to celebrate and thank the animal. In the evening, music and dance performances are held for entertainment. This festival is held just after the monsoon, between August-September.

If you're travelling from Mumbai or Pune, take the first bus out to Nashik. However, if you plan to take a private vehicle then leave early to reach Ozar by 10:00 AM. First, visit the Vigneshwara Temple and then the Brahmanand Temple which is close to it. It is advisable to visit both the temples first as they remain closed from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. During this time, you can visit the HAL museum. You can stay back at one of the hotels nearby or return.
