History of Fraser's Hill

Named after Louis James Fraser, a Scottish adventurer, Fraser's Hill was founded in the 1890s. The founder came here to look for some gold but found some tin deposits in its place. In 1917, some visitors visited the place to explore some dense forest and unexplored part of Malaysia. The Fraser's Hill was then converted to a resort in 1922 with colonial set up. The tourism department then constructed a one way towards the hill for making it a tourist spot.
