The city of Philadelphia is a national treasure, its momentousness as a historic city is central to the United States. Philadelphia is home to many firsts in the country, with every advancement in the region being traced back to this historic city. Philadelphia’s other historic attractions include the Edgar Allan Poe House and the Eastern State Penitentiary- a prison building that once housed famous figures like Al Capone. Philadelphia features a list of museums and theatres too long to recount but some of the more famous ones include the Benjamin Franklin Museum and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Movie buffs will also recognize the city to be the location of the Rocky Statue from the ‘Rocky’ movies!

Philadelphia has much to offer beyond historical sites and landmarks. The city is known across the nation for its extremely recognizable cuisine, featuring hoagies, sandwiches and the famous Philly Cheesesteak. The city features several taverns and parlours, some dating back several centuries, with their own history to discover for any passing tourist. The Reading Terminal Market is a celebrated food market that is one of the largest and oldest in the world, operating within the Reading Terminal building. 

Philadelphia is a tourist’s delight. It would take an endless amount of time to completely discover the city’s many nuances and attractions, making it a destination that you have to visit twice.
