Dakpark

The Dakpark in Rotterdam is known to be the biggest rooftop park in Europe due to its integrable spatial layout. This park stands 9m tall thus providing a splendid view of the harbours and buildings surrounding it. One can indulge in a picnic, barbeque, walk or sunbathe at this park.

The park offers a magnificent view from its rooftop area and has a restaurant and some shops located beneath the park. Since there is immense greenery around, the atmosphere is refreshing and serene. It is quite spacious and has many shops where one can purchase clothes and accessories. There are also workshops which aid in the promotion of green -living. There is a playground, fountain and water staircase too for children. There are many gardens like the Mediterranean garden which is in the middle of the garden and vegetable gardens. During summers, food stalls are often put up and other activities such as yoga, boot camp etc take place. Another special highlight of this park is the active participation of residents from the nearby Bospolder/Tussendijken district. The goal of the residents was to make this park a complete green zone and make it environment-friendly.  This park is very clean and nature-friendly thus making it a wonderful place to relax and have outings or picnics.
