Located near the Alcázar of Seville, The Los Venerables Hospital is well known for its magnificent Baroque architecture with elaborate decorations, a beautiful church, and a peaceful cloister. Once a care center for sick and elderly, it has been transformed into a cultural centre and museum.
The hospital offers various exhibitions and activities for visitors, including artwork displays, historical artefacts, and cultural exhibits. A permanent collection of Seville School artworks, including works by Diego Velázquez and Bartolomé Esteban Murillo, is also kept in the building for exploration. The hospital also features temporary exhibits and events, such as concerts and theater performances making it a must-see destination for tourists who are interested in different types of history, art, and culture. It is a historic building originally built as a residence for elderly and sick priests in the 17th century.
