Anse Source d, Seychelles Overview
Anse Source d'Argent is the most beautiful, award-winning beach of Seychelles, located in La Digue. The beach has been dubbed the most beautiful beach in the world for several years due to its azure waters, soft golden sands and the pink granite boulders that make it the unique attraction it is today. This renowned beauty of the beach has made it a hotspot for several photoshoots that range from simple wedding photos to movie shots for famous movies such as Crusole or Cast Away and famous adverts such as the Bacardi advert and the Bounty chocolate ad.
The beach has around 11 coves which are separated by boulders that provide a sense of privacy. To escape the crowd that usually flocks to the beach, walk past the first cove which is the most crowded and reach the next cove past the boulders.

Activities at Anse Source d'Argent
Snorkelling
Snorkelling is one of the number one activities on this beach as the clear waters are home to several different colourful and friendly fishes. One must not even wade too far into the waters and must wear the snorkelling gear before they are greeted by an array of fishes such as the Batfish, Butterfly Fish, Moorish Idol and the Sulphur Damsel.
Although, rarer than the fishes, an occasional sea turtle has also been spotted at the Anse Source d'Argent. Snorkelling on the other side of the coral reef, however, is reserved for individuals who have procured a license and have been cleared by the authorities. Source
Swimming
Although the place is not exactly ideal for swimming as the waters are too shallow, the Anse Source d’Argent is the perfect place to relax in the waters and occasionally walk far enough into the water to swim. The beach, however, is the perfect place to swim during high tide when the water is just sufficient to float casually but the high tide may also cover the beach entirely. Source
Stroll Through The Beach
Coming to the beach before 10:00 AM may be worth it for a casual stroll. Anse Source d'Argent is also made up of a series of eleven beaches and creeks. After walking through the first beach which is the one that is usually occupied, one can walk through the water or over the boulders to the second and less crowded cove.
For further exploration, individuals can go all the way to the eleventh cove where the lagoons are mesmerising. L'Union Estate
To reach the Anse Source d'Argent, one has to enter through the Union Estate which charges a small fee that includes not only the visit to the beach but also gives access to roam around the estates land.
Entry Fee: The Union Estate charges a fee of SCR 100 to access the Anse Source d'Argent beach. However, the price also includes various other amenities, as well as access to points of attraction in the estate.
The estate in itself is a great place to walk around when visiting the beach. The easiest way to see all that the estate offer is by renting a bike from the estate and pedalling through the scenic view.
The Union Estate is also widely known as it is home to the oldest plantation in Seychelles and the oldest cemetery on La Digue Island, both of which are sites that you would see while on the way to the beach. The working vanilla plantations are also a beautiful thing to see.
Further down, the path gives way to a massive pirate ship that many people consider a highlight and is also a popular spot for a plethora of wedding photoshoots.
The estate also holds the biggest granite boulder which covers an acre of land and is truly a sight to behold. The boulder is said to be 750 million years old and towers the estate.
The park and the museum along with the giant turtle exhibit old coconut mills, which are all included in the fee for the park, have also been a highlight and a source of pride for the Union Estate.
The Anse Source d'Argent provides ample food and refreshment choices in the surrounding areas. The beach itself has a small shack serving fruit juices and refreshments whereas the estate, as well as the surrounding areas, have restaurants that cater to several cuisines.
For local Creole cuisine, Lanboursir in the Union Estate, as well as Gala Takeaway, are excellent choices. How To Reach Anse Source d'Argent
The Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) at Mahe is usually the point of entry for most international citizens. From Mahe, a ferry to La Digue Island is the only route of transfer. Another convenient way to trapeze the island is through rental bikes available at La Digue.
