Palazzo Chigi Saracini , Siena Overview

The Palazzo Chigi-Saracini is an archaic urban palace on the Via di Città in the Terzo di Città in central Siena, Tuscany, Italy. It is known for various small music concerts organised, here. It also includes bas reliefs, paintings, ceramics, artefacts made of precious stones, ivory and wood and statues.

This palace was constructed by the Marescotti family in the 12th century. Initially, it was the house of Count Galgano Lucarini Saracini and later it became the property of Fabio Chigi Lucarini Saracini. The Chigiana Music Academy which was established in 1932 now operates from this palace. The curved facade of the palace which reflects Gothic design is one of the most distinctive features of the palace.

It portrays the Renaissance period during the 18th century which includes paintings by Botticelli, Sodoma and Sassetta.
