Snowy Mountains

The Snowy Mountains are the highest mountain range in Australia. Within the Kosciuszko National Park here is Mount Kosciuszko, the highest mountain on the Australian Mainland.

The Snowy Mountains area holds some of the best of alpine entertainment and facilities that Australia has to offer. Along with the country’s highest peak, it is also home to Perisher, the largest snow resort of the Southern Hemisphere, Thredbo, the longest ski trails of Australia, and Charlotte Pass, the country’s highest snow resort. It is no wonder that the Snowy Mountains attracts scores of tourists, skiers and snowboarders, all wanting to experience the Australian Alps at its finest. In the warmer months, the area is teeming with fun activities such as hiking, horse riding, kayaking, mountain biking and fishing, making the Snowy Mountains a year long mountain call everyone must answer. The ranges and valleys all around provide visitors with many opportunities to be amazed by the alpine beauty of the area. At the base of the mountains lies the quaint town of Jindabyne, surrounded by the lush greenery and the nearby Lake Jindabyne that connects with the Snowy river from the mountains.
