Gutman Museum is an art museum in Neve Tzedek, Tel Aviv. It displays the work of one of the most famous Israeli artists, Nachum Gutman, whose work goes hand-in-hand with Tel Aviv’s story. He documented the creation of the city from its early days, paying great attention to its culture and people. There is also work by other contemporary artists in the museum.
The collections, which Gutman’s family donated, include many paintings, sketches and illustrations. The place hosts events ranging from art workshops and children’s theatre to weekly tours. A new wing was added to the building, which features an acoustic auditorium. There is a small gift shop selling souvenirs, posters and lithographs. Free weekly tours take place during working hours. The museum is located in a historic building called Writers’ Home, one of the first buildings in the neighbourhood, constructed in 1887.
