Trabzon Hammams

Trabzon Hammams are traditionally deep-rooted Turkish baths with great cultural significance in Turkey. They had existed since the Great Ottoman Empire when people exchanged news and relevant information while freshening up. Delicious, aromatic tea and mouth-watering Turkish sweets are served too. Meydan Hamami is the most popular hammam in Trabzon.

It has a unique structure with 'jamegaha' as the first room one visits. This room is for changing clothes and preparing for the adoption of further procedures. There are lockers and benches for comfort, and one can enjoy the local Turkish tea and sweets here. Another room called 'soukluk' is specially made for drying after the bath. Visitors relax here after the whole procedure. The main room, ' sajaklik,' is a grand hall for cleansing and bathing. It is designed in a traditional Turkish style, with different locations for massages and other procedures.
