Umbergaon

Located in the Valsad district in the state of Gujarat, Umbergaon or Umargam is a small census town inhabited by fisher folks essentially. Based on a slightly mountainous region, the town is very close to the Maharashtra border and is known for its several gorgeous beaches and ancient temples. Besides, in 2017, the town became the first in the country to own a Nanotechnology manufacturing plant. In addition to that, the place also has a flourishing film industry.

Umbergaon Beach is the most popular tourist attraction in Umbergaon. The beach is visited by several tourists and is popular for its gorgeous sunset views, golden glittering sands and sumptuous ‘chowpatty’ style street food. Among the most popular items are Vada Pav, Sev Puri, Bhel Puri, and Pani Puri etc. Aside from that, it is the most perfect place to relax and unwind, owing to its serenity and tranquillity. You can also enjoy a horse carriage ride on the beach. The beach remains especially crowded during the annual Ganesh Chaturthi festival which is a big event in the region. There is also a lighthouse and a fishing harbour at Umbergaon beach that draws major tourist influx.
