Old Botanical Garden, Zurich Overview

Home to ample trees creating an alluring aura since 1837, the Old Botanical Garden is a blissful spring garden in downtown Zurich. Throughout the garden, you will find a variety of preserved exotic collections of floral and medicinal plants located near the beautiful Schanzengraben moat and the Bauschänzli bastion.

At the garden's centre lies a Medieval Herb Arena where visitors can view some medicinal plants dating back to the 16th century. The elegant, beautifully crafted glass and wooden palm house is the perfect place to relax amid the extrinsic exotic plants around the property. Concerts, exhibitions, and theatre plays are organized every day in the garden, which is worth enjoying in communion with nature.
