Surrounded by mountains and defined by plains and beautiful deserts, lies the state of New Mexico. The Bandelier National Monument is one of these sites, home to unique volcanic formations as well as vast archaeological ruins. New Mexico is home to the oldest continuously inhabited dwellings- Taos Pueblo is a small town that is home to mud and straw structures that have stood for a 1000 years.
New Mexico is famous for the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta among other things. This famous fiesta draws enormous crowds for its colourful and unique display of hot air balloons. Among its numerous state parks and historic monuments, New Mexico also includes the city of Roswell- famous for being the location of the first UFO sighting, currently hailed as the 'UFO capital', featuring a variety of UFO-themed items.
