Upon arriving at the airport, we will transfer you to your hotel. Check the information boards in the hotel reception area for details about the welcome meeting with your guide and fellow travelers.
Today, we explore one of Europe's most beautiful scenic areas—the region of the Italian lakes. First, we will travel to Lake Orta in Orta de San Giulio, a well-preserved medieval city. We will take a train ride to the center of the medieval town, followed by a boat ride to the Island of San Giulio, a small island on the lake with a monastery. Next, we visit Lake Maggiore, stopping in Stresa, where you can visit the Borromean Islands, especially Isola Bella, with its gardens and palace (closed in winter). After lunch, we proceed to Verona.
Note: During winter, the Orta train does not operate. In that case, you can access the medieval town by walking approximately 800 meters from the bus parking lot.
We will explore Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, before departing for Venice, where we arrive at around 1:00 PM. We include a boat trip to St. Mark’s Square. With a local guide, we will stroll through the City of Canals and admire the glasswork of Murano. Enjoy leisure time afterward—perhaps take a gondola ride? Accommodation will be provided in the Mestre district.
Today, we head to Padua, a popular pilgrimage destination, where we will see the Saint’s Basilica. Then, we travel to the Adriatic coast to visit San Marino, a small independent country atop a strongly fortified mountain, with time for lunch. We continue through beautiful mountain scenery, crossing the Apennines to reach Gubbio, a wonderfully preserved town featuring the Palace of Consuls and the 12th-century cathedral. We then proceed to Perugia.
Perugia is a historic city, also known as the "City of Chocolate." A local guide will show us the city’s steep ramps, rocky outcrops, squares, and cobbled streets. Afterward, we travel to Assisi, where we will have time for lunch and visit the Basilica of St. Francis. In the afternoon, we journey to Naples, arriving in the evening.
Enjoy free time in Naples for a morning walk before boarding a boat to the Island of Capri. You may take a boat to the Blue Grotto or the cable car to Capri City. Later, we board the boat again and continue to Sorrento, a charming tourist town at the base of a cliff. After some free time to explore, we travel to the Gulf of Salerno, staying overnight in Salerno.
Today, we visit Pompeii, where you will admire the remains of this ancient Roman city, buried under volcanic ash from Mount Vesuvius (guided tour and entrance included). Afterward, we return to Naples, one of the oldest cities in Europe, known for its UNESCO-listed old town. You’ll have time to walk around and enjoy lunch. We then continue to Cassino, where you may visit the immense abbey, the site of one of World War II’s fiercest battles. Finally, we proceed to Rome, arriving in the evening.
After breakfast, our services conclude.
