We walk on a trail that gradually descends to Cheplung village from where we can get a brief view of Mt. Khumbila. It is a sacred mountain that has never been climbed. From here on we gradually descend until Phakding.

We climb on a gradual trail with ups and downs and we can locate wild animals like musk deers and pheasants after which we reach Kayangjuma. We ten reach Sansa; a major trail which acts as a junction to Gokyo valley and Everest Base Camp. We enter a forest section of Pine trees and cross a bridge engulfed in prayer flags over Dudh Koshi River to reach Phunki Thenga. It is a small settlement with a number of teahouses and a small army post. We have lunch in Phunki Thenga and start a steep climb that goes into pine forests till we reach Tengboche. We either head east under the north face Ama Dablam or head north towards periche. The walk is generallu mild as we reach Inja Valley. As we reach Lobuche River the valley opens up. Then, we descend further into the river and we head for a steep climb upto Dingboche. Dingboche is a beautiful village with a series of fields flanked by stone walls to protect barley, buckwheat and potatoes from cold winds and grazing animals. We stay the night in Dinboche
We set off through the Khumbu Khola valley to reach Duglha. The trail along the drab fields presents us with views of mountains on all sides. The valley begins to narrow as we reach a yak herding area called Dusa. We continue through Phulung Karpo which was the campsite during the first successful attempt to climb Mount Everest in 1953. Over Phulung Karpo is Chola Lake. As we continue our trek towards Mt. Pumori (7138m) the trail drops and we come across a roaring stream. We cross a small wooden bridge and ascend to Dugla. We can view Nuptse peeking behind hills as well as Cholatse, Thamserku and many other peaks. The night in Dugla helps to acclimatize. We stay the night in Dugla.
We trek up the steep moraine of the Khumbu Glaclier. We ascend to Chupli Lhara which is an uncanny ridge with amzing mountain views. On top of the ridge there are prayer flags and stones used as memorials to Scott Fischer (American mountaineer) and a 10-time submitter Babu Chiri Sherpa (nepali mountain guide) who gave their life in the pursuit of climbing Everest. The trail again drops to Khumbu Glacier moraine and come across a number of peaks in Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori and Mahalangur Himal. Although we are close to Everest it is still hidden. We trek along a stream and walk a bit more to reach Lobuche. We stay the night in Lobuche.
We start the day walking past the moraine and can slow see the north ridge of Everest along with other mountains such as Mt. Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtren, Khumbutse and Nuptse. We do a moderate climb to Thangma Riju from where we can have a 360 degree view of mountains. We do a steep climb and through the Changri Glacier we get our first glance of Kala Patthar. Once we reach Gorak Shep, we will be surrounded by snow-capped mountains towering above us and the mighty Mount Everest. We take the trial to Gorak Shep which and come across Indian army mountaineers’ memorials. Once we reach the base camp there will be colorful tents on grey surroundings (during spring). We visit Kala Patthar during the evening to see the sunset view and view the snow capped mountains turn gold as the sun falls on them. We stay the night in Gorak Shep.
Today is the best part of our trip. We start at dawn to witness the breath taking views of the sun kissed Mount Everest from Kala Patthar. Familiar peaks such as Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse tower to the east even as Everest begins to reveal itself emerging between the west shoulder crest and Nuptse. During the ascent to Kala Patthar we can pause to catch our breath at several outstanding view points to snap pictures. After several hours of ascent, we reach Kala Patthar. From here, we scramble to climb the rocky outcrop near to the summit marked by cairns and prayer flags. As we reach the top, we sit on the Kala Patthar rocks and our eyes take in the unbelievable Himalayan Panorama, wandering from one mighty massif to another. We take as many pictures as we possibly can with our camera so they can last a lifetime.
At this moment of time, we trek down through the hillside blanketed by rhododendron and juniper trees. If it is spring, pink and red rhododendron flowers ablaze our surroundings. Depending on our hunger and condition, we either have our lunch in Pangboche or wait until we reach Phunki Tenga. After crossing the prayer-flag festooned bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, the trail then follows the Dudh Koshi gorge descending rapidly through the pine forests. The path leads to a junction in Sansa, we walk on steep slopes along windy paths before we reach the army camp in Namche Bazaar.
The trail descends steeply downward so we need to walk slowly and under control as our shaky legs continuously battle the rocky terrain. Upon crossing the suspension bridges over the fast flowing Dudh Koshi and its tributaries, the trail becomes more level and natural. We walk retrace our steps into the rhododendron forests and pass through Sherpa villages before we reach Lukla.
Early morning we board the scenic domestic flight back to Kathmandu. We have rest of the to relax and do some souvenir shopping. Later in the evening we will organize a farewell dinner program to celebrate the accomplishment of our trek
Today marks the last day of our trip. Our representative will drive you to the Trivuwan International Airport on a private vehicle for your departure.
