Breakfast at 07:00 hrs. At 08:00 hrs, you will depart for Maasai Mara, Kenya's best game sanctuary. This drive will give you another chance to view natural beauty along the floor of the Rift Valley.
You arrive in time for lunch at the camp. Upon arrival, you will check in, have lunch, and relax as you prepare for your first thrilling game drive in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve, one of East Africa's top safari destinations. The reserve covers 1,510 km² of incredible, wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodlands following the meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers in Kenya.
One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is a typical open savannah with a mass of amazing wildlife. Returning from your first foray into Maasai Mara, you will have dinner and relax under the stars, falling asleep to the sounds of the bush.
On this day, you will take breakfast and then depart for a full-day game drive. You also have an option to visit the Maasai Boma for cultural tourism at a fee paid directly.
You will be welcomed with exciting songs and dances; at certain times, one of the dancers will jump up and down gracefully. The jumps are several feet high! You will be invited to try jumping too, but you will quickly realize you are no match for their levitation act!
You will then go on a game drive in search of the Big Five and the plethora of other wildlife inhabiting this vast game reserve. On clear days, the Mara offers fantastic orange-tinged sunsets well worth capturing on camera. Wherever you go in the vast Maasai Mara, you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Maasai giraffes, baboons, warthogs, bat-eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyenas, topis, impalas, hartebeests, cheetahs, and wildebeest.
Elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions, either basking after a heavy meal or surveying the plains for their next hunt.
Have breakfast, then check out and depart for Nairobi. On your way, you will have a stopover at Narok town, then proceed to arrive in Nairobi at about 13:30 hrs when you will be transferred to JKIA airport to check in for your departure flight.
