Itinerary

Venture north of Phuket to Khao Lak, known for its stretches of beach and lush jungle scenery. Explore this peaceful slice of Thai paradise on a full-day tour. The first stop is the Sarasin Bridge, one of Thailand’s most beautiful and famous bridges. It connects Phuket to the province of Phang Nga and has gained renown due to the tragic Romeo and Juliet-style story associated with it. It'll be a quick stop here to view the surrounding bay and take photos of the gazebos and elevated turrets. Then, head to the Andaman View Point, where you can admire a 360-degree view of the surrounding fields, hills, and mountains. Head to the river for the bamboo rafting activity. Board a small yet sturdy raft made out of bamboo and cruise down the river, admiring the calm waters and the abundant greenery of the area. Next, you'll make your way to the Sea Turtle Conservation Center. Located across the Khao Lak National Park in the Thai navy base, learn about the efforts the navy is going to to rehabilitate the turtles. Catch a glimpse of the numerous turtles and other endangered marine life. Take an hour to have lunch and relax near the conservation center. After lunch, head to the International Tsunami Museum and discover how the effects of the 2004 tsunami greatly affected the Khao Lak area. See the Thai navy boat that was washed ashore by a massive wave. The final destination is the Lampi Waterfall. Head over to this multi-level waterfall, walk through the rainforest trail, and even take a dip in the chilly pool before making your way back to your accommodation in Phuket. Enjoy a low-impact way of exploring. On this tour, you explore sustainable experiences that prioritize providing water in glass bottles and offsetting carbon emissions in every tour, reducing your environmental impact and carbon footprint.

We were picked up 20 minutes after the agreed time (+10 minutes, which we should have been in the lobby of our hotel beforehand anyway). Except for the rafting, which was always more of a raft trip th (Read More)an rafting, the excursion was very hesitant. The events such as the Sarasin Bridge, Tsunami Museum (which does not correspond to a museum) and the Viewpoint were checked out at stops and we stayed there for about 10 minutes each. There were no interesting discussions with the guide on any of the points, or he explained more detailed topics. We would have loved to have learned more about the sea turtles or the waterfall as much as we did about the 2004 tsunami. All in all we would not book this tour again but would consider the raft trip extra with other events.

We left in the morning around 7:00 am to drive about 2 hours to reach the turtle help center, to then do the rafting on a bamboo raft which lasted long enough for not much in the end. Then we went to (Read More)the waterfall to just take some pictures (possible to swim there but the water is very cold) and after that, we had noodles at a local's. Once the meal was over, we headed back to our hotel (we got back around 2:00 p.m. when they plan the whole day and we had to pay extra for the trip). We found that it was not worth the detour to devote half a day to it.

we had a very good day.... We found that the bridge is not very beautiful. The only small problem was that we were made to pay for our host to pick us up even though it was normally planned like that (Read More)when I booked!

We booked this trip after friends recommended it to us. It turned out to be just us, the guide Lita and the driver. Lita was fantastic! She was really knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions w (Read More)e had. Lita took loads of photos for us during the day on our phones and hers and she was happy to send them to us on WhatsApp. The driver made us feel very safe and looked after our stuff while we were enjoying the activities. You can make this trip as long or short as you want depending on how long you want to spend at each place. Would highly recommended to anyone who wants to do something different.

Very nice day, the rafting was amazing, our guide was kind and well informed. The turtles are very very cute and you get a chance to see other parts of Thailand except for beaches and the ocean. Highl (Read More)y recommended.

Unfortunately, the trip unnecessarily dragged on far too long. The first stop was the connecting bridge between Phuket and Khao Lak. It was nice to look at, but you didn't necessarily have to go over (Read More)it. The second stop was the turtle center, which was really nice and interesting. I would have liked to hear more about that, but we had to continue to the Tsunami Memorial, which to be honest was disturbing. The story of the tsunami was quite interesting, but having relatives of victims there begging for donations and showing pictures of partially dead bodies was just chilling. Our guide still endorsed it. At the next stop, the raft trip, we were held up for almost two hours before we started. Allegedly there were delays with other groups, which were probably there as planned. But the ride itself was very nice. The last stop at the waterfall was also very nice. Nevertheless, we were happy when the day was over. Unfortunately unnecessarily long.
