Can I take my car to Sikkim?

Yes, you can take your own car to travel to Sikkim or you can get a self-drive car too, especially if you are visiting any of the unprotected areas. However, if you are planning on entering any of the protected areas which are closer to the border like Nathula Pass or Tsomgo Lake, you will need to rent a Sikkim registered vehicle from a tour operator; it must be an SUV like Bolero, Innova or Scorpio. Is there snowfall in Sikkim?

Not all of Sikkim receives snowfall during the winters. The temperature drops as low as -5°C and the views are absolutely magnificent. You can also ride the ropeway, go skiing and yak riding during this time.
