Parks in Hyderabad for a Relaxing Day-out

Spread over 92 acres on land on the banks of Hussain Sagar Lake, Sanjeevaiah Park is dedicated to the former President of India Dr Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy. Lumbini Park is a gorgeous urban park in Hyderabad named after Lumbini of Nepal. Located alongside Hussain Sagar, the park has an artificial water tank. A huge statue of Lord Buddha is installed in the tank which can be reached through paddle boats. The park also holds musical fountain shows and is an important tourist spot in the city.

Located adjacent to the Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad, NTR Gardens is a tiny but gorgeous park dotted with brightly coloured plants and tall trees. Boasting of well-groomed landscaping, ornate lamp posts and brilliant water fountains, this park in Hyderabad also has a souvenir shop, toy train, freefall, restaurants and variety of fun activities for both kids and adults.

Kasu Brahmananda Reddy National Park i.e. KBR National Park is situated in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. KBR park boasts of rich flora and fauna and provides a pleasant respite from the din and chaos of the city. Also known as Chiran Fort Palace, the park is divided into conservation zone where entry is restricted and visitor's zone where tourist entry is regulated.

Built in 1846, during the Nizam's reign, Public Gardens is considered to be the oldest set of parks in Hyderabad. Also known as the Bagh-e-Aam, the park houses many building of historical and political importance including the very popular Lotus Pond.

Spread over an area of 76 acres, Indira Park is believed to have been built in the year 1975. Named after the former Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi, the park houses tall towering trees and plenty of shrubs and flowering place. This is one of the popular parks in Hyderabad which is frequented by tourists as well.

Priyadarshini Park is situated adjacent to Saroornagar Lake in Hyderabad. With beautifully landscaped lawns, swings and snack stalls, the park is a favourite hang out place for the city folks. Jalagam Vengal Rao Park, also known as J V R Park is situated in Banjara Hills neighbourhood of Hyderabad. It is ideal for early morning and evening walks and provides the much-needed respite from the noise of the city.
