Domestic flights connect Yerevan to Gyumri, the second-largest city in Armenia. Armenia's railway network, managed by the South Caucasus Railway, provides a scenic and leisurely way to travel across the country. The main domestic train routes include Yerevan to Gyumri, which connects the capital with Armenia's second-largest city and is popular among travelers. The journey offers picturesque views of the Armenian countryside and takes about 3-4 hours. Another important route is Yerevan to Vanadzor, connecting Yerevan with the third-largest city in Armenia. The main highways and intercity roads are generally in good condition, although some rural areas might have less well-maintained roads.

Buses and minibuses (marshrutkas) are the backbone of Armenia's public transportation system. They connect Yerevan with other major cities, towns, and even remote villages. Marshrutkas are faster than buses and are a common choice for intercity travel. In Yerevan, the central bus station is Kilikia Bus Station. The fare for intercity transfers are affordable, making it a budget-friendly option for getting around.
