Austria Visa

Austria allows the member countries of EEA and EU to travel without a visa. All the remaining countries require visa according to their purpose of the trip. For getting a short-term travel or tourist visa in Schengen countries, one must procure the following documents - 

1. Complete application form signed by the applicant
2. A full national passport of the applicant with a minimum validity of 3 months and blank pages to affix visa sticker
3. Two passport sized photographs with light and plain background
4. Proof of why the applicant wants to visit the country. 

Proofs required are -

1. Original letter of invitation legalised by solicitor or notary public OR
2. Original letter from the Austrian business partner OR 
3. Confirmed hotel reservation or confirmation of tour Visa fees for a short stay (less than 90 days) is EUR 60 and for an extended stay (more than 90 days) is EUR 99. One can apply for the visa online or has to visit the authorised centre in each country.

Visa Policy for Indians

Indian citizens can apply for the Tourist Visa for Austria (Schengen Visa) from various cities including Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, New Delhi, Chennai and Jalandhar. The visa charges are EUR 100 along with an additional service charge (inclusive of service tax levied upon per application) of EUR 30. The amount can be paid in cash or by a Demand Draft in favour of 'VFS GLOBAL SERVICES PRIVATE LIMITED' at the centres mentioned above. Indian citizens need to visit the authorised centre personally to submit their application form. After being given an appointment, one has to carry specific documents. Once again, the applicant has to collect the visa from the asked centre personally.Third party collection of the passports or documents will  be permitted in the following cases:1. Immediate Family Member ( i.e. Parents, Children, Siblings)2. One member of a group collecting for the entire group

Visa for Indians - Fee & Requirements

For short-term travel or tourist visa/Schengen Visa, there are set of document one must procure:

Financial Proof for which you need to submit copies of the following - 

Salary slip (in case employed): last 3 months (at times 6 months depending on the consulate).
Personal Bank Statement: last 3 months (get original from the bank as it has to be bank-sealed on their letterhead)
Original receipt and a copy of the Forex purchased or recent Credit card statement mentioning credit limit
