You can get around Kuwait by road. The roads are in good conditions and there are signs in both English and Arabic to guide tourists. Options include buses, taxis and cars.
KPTC, City Bus and KGL are the bus lines that operate in Kuwait. They cater to a large network of routes in all major cities. All these buses are air-conditioned, making travel very comfortable and easy. Another option is to get around by taxi and these can be discerned by their orange license plates. Taxis do have meters, but they are rarely used. A fixed rate is set beforehand. Do not choose a taxi from the hotel ranks, as they are more expensive. You can also rent a car and drive it yourself. This is a very popular practice. An International Driving Permit has to be presented for this purpose.
