- When making a reservation for Apartments Kirchbhl through booking.com or other travel sites, you do not get informed that the booking is without any service. You also don't get the option of including service when making the reservation on booking.com. I only found out about this halfway through my stay. As the booking was without service, they did not offer fresh towels or clean the room for the duration of my stay which was 10 nights. The terms of the booking are also not clear about this.Basically, you think you have booked a serviced apartment, but it actually does not include any service
- They charge a CHF 300 deposit on arrival which is burried in the small print and say that it will be returned after 3-6 weeks after from the checkout date - this is buried in the small print of the terms and conditions.
- Since I had booked a stay for 10 nights, not having towels replaced was very inconvenient. They also only provided two sets of towels when I checked in. I found this very bizarre as most hotels/service apartments provide enough fresh towels, which should last the duration of the stay, and also give you the option for requesting more free of charge if required. I had to pay CHF 5 to get a pair of fresh towels mid way through my stay. My issue is not with the CHF 5 fee for new towels it is just that I only found out about this mid way through my stay when I called the reception desk enquiring why I did not get any new towels. The towels they provide are also of not good quality. They seemed to have washed and reused many times over for ages, which made they not very soft to use.
