Let down on a one of a lifetime event very stressful disappointing everyday

Hurray at last we were NOT in the Channel View Hotel we were told it had been flooded so told to go to The Brunswick, it was very upsetting to see no lift as my son and I are disabled,the Christmas dinner was cold overcooked so we didnt eat it 65 each not worth it ended up eating at The Wight mouse ! The Channel view was open and a couple from our hotel were sent there due to needing a lift ,we didnt get this offer ! I couldnt shower as I was unable to climb into a bath pictures online for the Channel hotel showed lifts and showers if I had been given the choice between the hotels we would have chose the most suitable being The Channel View, the only thing we enjoyed from our stay was the waiter at breakfast he was so enchanting and was the hotels only Plus From The Adie Family Our stay this Christmas We booked TheChannel view hotel as it was a luxury hotel we ended up in a slum hotel due to flooding at the hotel we booked , fine , the cost was the same as the original booking, very unfair, we got a room with creaking floors the bed creaked , a bath with a shower , I couldnt shower for 5 days due to being disabled as I can not get into a bath , I had to climb stairs as there was no lift , dangerous as I walk with a stick , Christmas Day was such a let down everyone received the dinners but they forgot ours !! The dinner when it came was cold and overcooked and dry , we paid 65 each as there was 3 of us 195 we complained so we left our dinner ! All we wanted was a memorable Christmas away , we got it ? The hotel we ended up in was The Brunswick in Shanklin ! And to put the cherry on the cake ,we went for a walk and found that the hotel we were supposed to be in was open , we want compensation as this was a very devastating holiday ,stressful! This had to be said please sort this ,our confirmation number is 4242734920 Mr and Mrs Adie and disabled son Brett ,it was his birthday on December 26th and this was his Christmas and Birthday present too !

The location of this hotel is excellent for walking into Shanklin and Old Shanklin.

Nothing. The facilities were all clean, lovely room and friendly staff who couldnt do anymore to make you feel welcome, even our little dog was made welcome.

Great experience friendly staff

Staff were very friendly, particularly Roberta (General Manager) and the nice waiter with the Airedale dog (didnt get his name). Dog friendly which is much appreciated

Great hotel, great staff, great service

Everything was excellent at the Channel View Hotel. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the view from the room was amazing. The service was impeccable, everyone was so nice and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and the coffee was great. We had a wonderful stay and we will surely come back soon.

A blast from the past weekend with my hubby.

The choice of breakfast was fabulous & having spent many years from childhood on holiday in Shanklin, it was lovely to come back & visit old places & travel round the island.
