    The hotel was a highlight in our brief but memorable stay in Bergen.
    The hotel radiated charm and history, and we loved the location.
    We would have liked a shower curtain in the bathroom.

    Wonderful and memorable
    We arrived in early morning after a night train ride. Fortunately, our room was ready and the friendly hotel staff offered early check-in free of charge, as well as breakfast on the first day. Wonderful way to start our visit in Bergen. Everything was great in the hotel and the Fika time, included dinner, sauna and steam bath just make it more enjoyable (and worth every penny).

    Sumptuous building on the port with a great food offer
    Charming old building located right on the port. Comfy room and cosy nicely decorated lounges. We loved their offer of Fika in the afternoon and light buffet in the evening. Huge breakfast with plenty of delicious options. The view from the tower is amazing!
    For my taste some decoration choices were a bit odd/ old fashioned (heavy golden velvet curtains and violet thrones), but I am sure others would love it

    Would probably choose this over other 4 star hotels as they offered half board
    Great location. Fantastic breakfast options
    Mattress too soft. Dinner which was included was limited choice. The waffle machine was horrible.

    The staff, particularly the reception staff, were exceptional. Nothing was too much. The breakfast and dinner options of the half-board could not be faulted. Perfect location for what we wanted to do.
    The beds were too soft for our liking and the mattress seemed to slip off. It was just a minor inconvenience.

    Lovely short break in Bergen. We would return to this hotel.
    Reception staff, food choices, view. General ambiance of hotel - except lighting, as noted below.
    Lighting in restaurant and bedroom could have been better, too dim! In fact the restaurant was on occasions very dark in our opinion. Ideally could have had one more person on duty in restaurant, as was difficult to find someone sometimes.
