We hadnt expected the apartment to be within a hotel.
The kitchen floor was very disconcerting as it was obviously rotten in places, possibly due to the leaking roof & water ingress through the kitchen ceiling. (Apparently due to an owls nest on the roof they couldnt fix the leak). We also had to pre wash all the crockery, glasses & cooking pans before using as they had been put away dirty (oven pan had old grease/oil in it & glasses had lipstick smears etc.) The cooker lid also felt sticky/greasy.
When we arrived there was a TV engineer on site but the issue wasnt resolved & we didnt have access to many of the standard TV channels & signal frequently cut out entirely - especially when raining!! There was also no internet access despite it having its own hub/booster. (There was a junction box hanging off the wall outside the living room window with exposed wires, so guessing that this couldve been the issue?!)
The lighting was quite dim & inadequate especially in the living room where there was only one small pendant fitting & a table lamp on a side table as you entered the room, which didnt provide enough light for reading & cross-stitching.
The bidet was unnecessary and made the bathroom cramped & created the need for a bifold door, which wasnt ideal as it was difficult to close fully & had gaps even when closed. An additional towel rail would have been handy!
For accommodation that claims to be suitable for pets, we felt that carpet was not an appropriate choice of flooring - especially in the main living/dining room area. There were a few stains - signs of previous spills/accidents. A vinyl or other more easily cleanable type of flooring would be a better option (maybe with a rug by the sofa/chair).
