    Not as good as normal.
    This is my 5th visit to The Crown. The location is ideal for my business in the area. Parking always available. Rooms are comfortable (not on this occasion) Food menu doesn't change but is consistently good. Breakfast, when served to order, is normally excellent. (not on this occasion)
    Room 205 does not have curtains but ill fitting blinds. The windows are old and draughty, so much so that little sleep was had as the the wind blew the the blinds causing them to flap around and made the room cold. When the Hotel is busy breakfast is served buffet style. I ate at 7.45am and the serving / warming plates were full with bacon, sausages etc but all cold to taste. I questioned as to whether the burners underneath were lit to keep the food warm and was assured they were. This I doubt. At checkout I politely referred to the above and was told "I'll pass it on ".

    Relaxing stay just why was needed
    Had a lovely relaxing stay even though there was a little hiccup we had a flood in our room but the staff were amazing we were moved room very quickly. Food tge breakfast and evening meal was top notch. .

    Gorgeous hotel we cant wait to come back!
    This exceeded all of our expectations by far! Luxury on a budget. Newly refurbished, beautifully so, spotlessly clean, cosy warm room, high end teas/coffees/biscuits, Arran Aromatics toiletries in the bathroom a lovely surprise - my favourite! Nice to see some vegan options on the menu and to hear they had a vegan breakfast. We didnt get to try breakfast or the pool but will definitely be back as I imagine theyre just as nice as everything else! Lovely staff. Also loved the generous check out time of 11am! Set in a beautiful little village too, the local pub looked gorgeous!
    Couldnt fault anything!

    Booked the room for my mum and she loved her stay. Location is amazing, staff were so attentive and helpful, lounge area is a lovely place to meet friends and spend time, especially with its festive decoration. My mum loved the leisure facilities, and excellent opening hours...... everything was of a really good quality. Finally, as a visitor, it felt really warm, welcoming and friendly.
    Not really a 'don't like' but a variety of tea bags would have been appreciated in the room.

    Room was fine for what we needed. Staff were brilliant especially in the bar when we had our tea reservation. Best coffee liqueur I've ever had too! Food was brilliant and large portions too.
    Not much all was well. Paint was new in the rooms I think and was a bit sloppy done but didn't ruin my sleep.

    Due to their appalling customer service, I will never know@
    No idea. My booking was cancelled due to intransigent policy of Booking. Com being upheld in the most miserly way by the Hotel itself.
    I couldn't travel due to sudden violent stirms. These were well reported. Rather than cancel through the site I contacted the hotel and asked if I could reschedule, and offered to pay a penalty fee. Talked to two hotel staff, promised a call back by both. Neither were received. Instead the hotel.simply cancelled my booking and charged me in full. This is by the letter of the booking.com policy, but surely not in the spirit of customer service. The hotel in fact advised me NOT to use booking.com in the future and to call them directly!! As a regular customer of the site this appalled me, surely properties should work with the site, not against it. I have been in a similar situation once before and that time the property concerned allowed me to reschedule. Hence my scoring of the hotel here, they could have responded differently.
